Sega's brilliant arcade lightgun shooter makes it's way to Nintendo's revolutionary console. Ever since the Wii remote was unveiled by Nintendo at 2005's Tokyo Game Show, many Sega fans have hoped that the peripheral would finally make many of Sega's formerly arcade only light gun shooters possible to play at home, without requiring additional peripherals. Now, it appears those hopes have become reality, with the announcement of the arcade light gun shooter hit Ghost Squad coming to the Wii.
Ghost Squad, which was originally released on Sega's Xbox-based Chihiro arcade board back in 2004, is a light gun shooter that made use of a machine gun-shaped light gun. The gun itself featured three different shooting modes and an action button, to be used during special sequences such as bomb disarming. The game featured 3 different levels, each of which included many different branching paths and sub-missions. There was also a diverse assortment of weapons and costumes to pick from in the select screen at the beginning of the game.
The Wii version will contain many new features, including a four player mode and 25 selectable weapons. No other features have yet been specified. The game is scheduled to come out holiday 2007.
